Overview
Establishment of Health and Safety Committees with management and worker representation, a documented charter, and rights for workers to know, participate, and refuse unsafe work.
Requirements
The Facility shall:
- 8.1.1 Establish a workplace Health and Safety Committee(s), comprised of management representatives and workers, inclusive of diverse demographics such as age, ethnicity, and gender.
- 8.1.2 Develop a documented Committee Charter that identifies governance and activities to be conducted by the Committee.
- 8.1.3 Workers and workers representatives shall be consulted on OHS issues and given opportunities to provide feedback on and participate in OHS processes, through OHS committees or otherwise.
- 8.1.4 Workers shall be informed of their rights, including the right to know about OHS hazards and issues within the workplace, the right to participate in keeping the workplace safe and healthy, and the right to refuse unsafe work and remove themselves from situations that pose imminent harm.
