Overview
Monitoring of working hours to ensure regular hours do not exceed 48 hours per week and overtime does not exceed 12 hours per week, with voluntary overtime, rest periods, and special provisions for pregnant workers and young workers.
Requirements
The Facility shall:
- 9.9.1 Monitor worker's hours to verify that workers' total regular working hours do not exceed 48 hours per week and that overtime hours do not exceed 12 hours per week, unless there are emergency situations, in alignment with ILO Convention C001.
- 9.9.1.1 Where collective bargaining agreements require fewer working hours than 60 hours per week including overtime, these requirements shall take precedence.
- 9.9.2 Ensure overtime work is voluntary.
- 9.9.3 Provide rest periods during working hours, and at minimum one rest day for every seven working days.
- 9.9.4 Ensure that special arrangements for working hours are provided to pregnant workers and workers under 18 years of age.
- 9.9.5 Provide annual holidays and sick leave in compliance with local laws.
- 9.9.6 Maintain records of worker work hours, overtime, and annual and mandated leave in compliance with local laws.
