Overview

Documented action plans to provide sanitary living and working conditions including clean water, restrooms, canteens, dormitories, and adequate ventilation, with regular inspections.


Requirements

  • 8.6.1 The Facility shall establish, document, and implement action plans to provide sanitary living and working conditions that include:
    • 8.6.1.1 Providing access to safe and clean drinking water, free of charge.
    • 8.6.1.2 Providing clean gender-separated, or gender neutral, restroom facilities, including nursing and changing stations (where applicable).
    • 8.6.1.3 Maintaining sanitary conditions for canteens, cafeterias, dormitories, or any other relevant worker support facilities.
    • 8.6.1.4 Separating dormitories and accommodation areas from operational areas.
    • 8.6.1.5 Providing sanitary food storage.
    • 8.6.1.6 Providing adequate ventilation in enclosed living and working areas to maintain air quality.
    • 8.6.1.7 Conducting regular documented inspections of working and living areas to ensure sanitary and hygienic conditions are maintained.
