Overview
Payment of wages meeting or exceeding national minimum wages and industry rates, action plans for living wages, premium overtime pay, social benefits, transparent pay slips, and prohibition on wage deductions for disciplinary purposes.
Requirements
The Facility shall:
- 9.10.1 Meet or exceed the national minimum wages in alignment with ILO Conventions C131 and C095 and meet the appropriate industry wage (if higher).
- 9.10.2 Develop an action plan to identify and where possible implement living wages.
- 9.10.3 Provide workers with timely wage payments.
- 9.10.4 Pay overtime at a premium rate of minimum 125% of the standard rate in consideration of ILO Convention C001.
- 9.10.5 Provide workers with paid holidays in alignment with ILO Convention C132.
- 9.10.6 Ensure workers are not required to pay deposits to take vacation/leave.
- 9.10.7 Pay social benefits such as annual leave, maternity, paternity, and sick leave.
- 9.10.8 Provide pay slips to workers in a language they understand and include a detailed account of all deductions.
- 9.10.9 Maintain records of timely payment of wages, severance, and benefits to workers.
- 9.10.10 Ensure workers are not required to sign up for accommodation rental exceeding period of employment or require excessive deposits with financial penalties for leaving early employment or accommodation.
- 9.10.11 Prohibit charging rents for accommodation that exceed local norms and market conditions.
- 9.10.12 Prohibit wage deductions for disciplinary purposes.
